KBR68H - Duet asal Perancis Daft Punk membawa pulang lima Grammy Awards tahun ini, termasuk untuk kategori Album of The Year dan Record of the Year untuk lagu "Get Lucky". Sementara itu duet hip-hop Macklemore dan Ryan Lewis meraih empat penghargaan - untuk kategori Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Album dan Best Rap Song.
Ajang Grammy tahun ini juga memberikan penghargaan kepada penyanyi muda berusia 17 tahun asal Selandia Baru yang tengah bersinar, Lorde. Lorde meraih penghargaan di kategori Song of The Year dengan lagu "Royals" dan Best Pop Solo Performance. Penyanyi pendatang
baru ini mengalahkan Katty Perry, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake dan Sara Bareilles. Lorde mengaku tak menyangka bakal menang. Ia sekaligus mengucapkan terima kasih kepada nomine lain dalam kategori Best Pop Solo Performance. Lorde juga dinominasikan untuk kategori utama Grammy Awards 2014 lainnya seperti Record of The Year dan Song of The Year.
Penyerahan penghargaan Grammy Awards di atas panggung Staples Center, di Los Angeles, Minggu (26/1) waktu setempat ini dibuka oleh penampilan Jay-Z dan istrinya Beyonce. Sementara Madonna bergabung dengan Macklemore dan Lewis menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan "Same Love" seiring dengan prosesi pernikahan 33 pasangan heteroseksual dan homoseksual di atas panggung.
